A dogtooth violet in full flower now.
And dogthooth violet is flower of Hakuba village.
This root use to make a starch.
But it was a lot of work.
So it has changed to potato starch now.
Anyway,they are very beautiful like a violet carpet.

白馬村の村花のカタクリが満開です。
昔はカタクリの根で片栗粉を作っていたようですが、
効率が良くないのでジャガイモに変わったそうです。
白馬にはカタクリ園があって、カタクリの群生を見ることができます。
一面ムラサキ色でとてもキレイです。

Finally bloom a cherry blossoms in Hakuba.
It will be full bloom in few days.
Also many flowers come out slowly.
very nice time to walk around Hakuba area.

やっと白馬の桜が咲き始めました。
あと２、３、日で満開になりそうです。
他の花もいろいろ咲き始めてます。
散歩をするのにとても良い季節になりました。

Hakuba village has festival on the 4th May that is salt road festival.
Salt road was used to bring salt from Japan sea to Shiojiri city about 100year ago.
On the festival day,People walk this salt road wearing a traditional fancy dress.
Also 3rd and 5th May have salt road festival next to Hakuba village.
So 3 days festival around Hakuba area.
Come to Hakuba,and join with them.

毎年恒例の塩の道祭りが５月３，４，５日と開催されます。
白馬村は４日になります。３日は小谷村、５日は大町です。
白馬も暖かくなり、歩くのに良い季節となりました。
みんな仮装しながら昔の塩の道を歩きます。
この機会に１度歩いてみてはどうでしょう。



Toshi

Tateyam Kurobe Alpine route is one of the most famous place to visit in spring.
We can see and walk next to snow wall only this time.
Snow wall is 17m now.
About 1 hour to start point of Alpine route from Hakuba.

立山黒部アルペンルートが開通しました。
今の時期しか見ることが出来ない雪の大谷は現在１７ｍの高さです。
白馬からも１時間くらいでアルペンルートの入り口の扇沢まで行くことができます。

One of the our helper left 1st April.
We had Takoyaki(octopus ball) and Okonomiyaki(Japanese pizza) for his last night.
It was very good and fun.
Because one of the guest made it for us who comes from Osaka.Thanks.
You were so helpful.

今シーズン一緒に働いてくれたジャックが４月１日に白馬を離れました。
最後の夜にたこ焼き、お好み焼きのお別れディナーをしたのですが、
大阪出身のゲストも参加して作ってくれたので、とても美味しく楽しく過ごしました。
繁忙期の掃除や雪かきとても助かりました。
ありがとうジャック！

We have got about 30cm of fresh snow this morning.
Very good snow in this time for skiing and snowboarding.
And snowing to tomorrow night.
Enjoy the powder snow in March.

昨日からの雪で３０ｃｍほどの積雪がありました。
この時期ではあまりない良いコンディションです。
そしてこの雪は明日の夜まで降り続く予報。
３月末ですがまだパウダーを楽しめますよ。

The tree fell down for wind...
We had very strong wind today.
It's like a storm.
All of chair lifts have stopped even the bottom area.
Then,one of our tree fell down for the wind.
Still this tree is stacking on the railing of balcony.
We have to think how to move the tree in safely...
But we didn't get any damage to the building,a car,electric wire and neighborhood.
Very very lucky.

風で木が倒れたんです…
今日はもの凄く風の強い日で、嵐のようでした。
上部のみならずスキー場の全てのリフトが運転を見合わせていたくらいです。
そして、私たちの木が風で倒れました。
まだバルコニーの手すりに倒れ掛かっている状況です。
上手く安全に倒す方法を考えなければ…
ただ、建物、車、電線やご近所に被害はありませんでした。
とても、とてもラッキーです。

Hi everyone!
It is noticeably getting warmer day by day but there is plenty of snow in Hakuba
area for spring ski.
I had a few days off and enjoyed really nice condition on piste at
Goryu/Hakuba 47.
On very clear day, you could possibly see what we call "Takeda-Bishi( Takeda clan Diamond)"near Mt.Goryu 's summit.

だんだん暖かくなってきていますが、白馬にはまだたくさんの雪があるので５月まで春スキーを楽しめますよ！
数日の休暇を利用して五竜・白馬４７のいいコンディションの雪を青空の下、満喫してきました！
五竜岳の武田菱もくっきりでした！
