Hi there!
It’s Sakura again :P
I went to Baird Brewery in Shuzenji with Ito staff the other day.

They are making local craft beer, you can have a look at the beer creation process.

BUT the main reason we went there was to enjoy the beer and chatting.
I would love to see process of making beer next time!

You can bring your favorite snacks, so we bought some and shared those under the sun.

We were sitting on the terrace so we could enjoy autumn leaves as well!
The best picnic EVER

There are more than 20 kinds of beer and
I’m literally an indecisive person...
I couldn’t choose one...

They have beer flight,
So... I ordered and tried three types of beer.(Actually I did twice lol)
I absolutely LOVED it!

You can catch a bus from Shuzenji Sta.
and get off at 「Laforet Iriguchi」
Just 10min walk from the bus stop.
If someone interested in it, check it out by following the link below下下
http://bairdbeer.com/ja/brewery/

Where should we go next?

As you know,I’m working in Hakone,
even though I wrote about Izu area(previous one too).haha
I will introduce Hakone next time.

P.S.
We are going to celebrate our 2nd anniversary on this Saturday.
We will make Okonomiyaki and Japanese curry.
Pleeeease join us and let’s have a good time together!

Hi there! This is Sakura, from Hakone.
Actually, this is the first time for me to write a blog
I was doing work exchange in Ito for two weeks,
So,I want to share some stuff that happened during my stay there.

On my day off,I went to Kadowaki Suspension Bridge just 20min away from Ito by train.
I walked across the bridge. There was quite strong rain and wind, so I was a bit scared.haha
Although the weather was bad, the view was still amazing!!!

After that, I caught the train to Izu-kogen.
One of Ito’s staff member recommended some place to eat,
however, the restaurants were all closed.
Lots of restaurants closed on Wednesdays.(it was Wednesday btw)

I was starving anyway, accidentally I found one bakery on google,
I had some breads, soup and hot chocolate that were soooo delicious, yum!

And then, I went to shrine and had good cup of coffee at the end of the day.

On the second day, the wether was lovely,
I went to Inatori to check out pampas grass and west of Izu peninsula to see sunset with Chi-san.

There are pampas grass fields in Hakone too,
but those in Ito are much bigger in comparison to Hakone ones to be honest...
We took a free shuttle bus that took us as close to the top of the mountain as possible and then went up the stairs to the top.
The sky was clear, no clouds, just beautiful!
We were chatting, took lots of pictures while walking through pampas grass all the way down to the bottom.
It took about 45min. That was a good walk.

We had good sashimi for lunch, drove to Dogashima.
When we got there, we still had some time before the sunset,
so we got on a ferry and it took us around the islands.
Normally we can go inside a cave but, unfortunately,
we couldn’t due to maintenance...damn下
The sunset was awesome, everything turned out to be just perfect!!!

There wasn’t enough time to see other places around Izu area,
I’d definitely come back and see more things and places!
I also strongly recommend to check out those places
If you visit Ito, why don’t you try to go there

Of course I enjoyed working with the staff
The building is the listed heritage, 100 year old
Everything was interesting and exciting!

Oh, one more thing before I’m done writing
They have a Kotatsu(Japanese traditional heater) in lounge area,
It’s soooo warm and cozy, I sat down there almost every day
Also, here is the best place to nap!!LOL

Thank you so much for having me and I’ll be back for sure!!!

We had a summer party on July 15th in Hakone.(I'm sorry for uploading this late.)

Staff in Tokyo Oasis branch came and helped us to hold the party.

We enjoyed hand-rolled sushi with mixtures of several ingredients.

We put sushi rice and ingredients like vegetables, fish on seaweed and roll it.

What will be the taste like?

We also put natto (fermented soybeans).

We also made gyouza.

Learn how to wrap gyoza and try to make one.

They look yummy!

You can enjoy variety of flavors.

We did watermelon splitting in front of our entrance.

In summer season, watermelon splitting is very popular to Japanese, but our guests were so excited to see and play it for the first time.

After blinding and turning around, they start to move.

They need to listen carefully to voices in all directions to get closer to watermelon.

Yes! We made it!

We had so much fun at the party!

We want to have an event for the season again.

Hello, everyone!

I want to share my experience of the trip I did the other day.
This time, I did really typical one day trip in Hakonelove!

I started from Odawara station, bought 2 days Hakone free pass and took a train to Gora電車

Since I was too lazy to leave my apartment before noon, I needed to be in a bit rush and couldn't spend enough time at each places

I visited Gora Park, since the pass allows me to visit there without entrance fee. The pampas grass I found at there was outstanding

Then, I took a cable car and rope way to Owakudani, where used to be closed for a while because of volcanic gas.
The place looked like totally isolated city which made me so surprised.
I hope someday I can do hiking at there as it used to be.

After that, I took a "pirates ship" to cross Lake Ashi太陽

It was already dark, so I couldn't see Mt.Fuji clearly, but it was still beautiful.

Next time, I would love to visit each places a lot more than this time.

*TIPS*

Hakone Free Pass

Owakudani

Lake Ashi

We had soba on the new years eve with our guests.
We made soba for surprising present and everyone enjoyed it.

Our staffs went to a temple near our hostel and rang the bell.
After that, we visited a shrine and pray for good luck of the coming year.
We will recommend to our guests next time.
